Today I am grateful for
PRAYERS.....
our lifeline to God.
'Praying Hands' by Albrecht Durer
The story behind this etching is amazing...the artist did it in honour of his
brother Albert, who sacrificed his hands in work to support Albrecht while he studied art in Nuremberg. It is a true reminder to be grateful in ALL things and give a little prayer of thanks each day.
May you find lots to be grateful for today! Pop on over here for more 'pockets of grateful'.

What an uplifting story! The bonds between siblings sometimes blow me away. x
ReplyDeleteI've seen the picture before but didn't know the story. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA great message indeed. Be grateful in all things.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
The detail in this etching is just incredible the story behind it even more incredible. xx
ReplyDeleteA very poignant post today TK.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved this painting and the one he did of a hare (usually described as Durer's rabbit).
Indeed prayer is our lifeline to God - beautifully put.
I hope you have a wonderfully romantic Valentines day and a great week as well!
hugs
