Making My Week

What a wonderful surprise to check my emails this morning
and find out I had been nominated for a Blog Award!
I don't have a gazillion followers so this is rather special to me. It comes from the aforementioned Heather over at Raining Silence. Thankyou Heather you have truly blessed me today. xx.

Now comes the best bit.....10 blogs I want to award...
so here goes, the blogs and the reasons why:

Squiggly Rainbow - Fristly I love the name of this blog...must ask the "Why?" question. Rach is a beautiful person who does so much, she is an artist and I love her creative flair. I suspect that if we lived near each other we would become good friends....I 'get' her and I already love her very much. Rach and I would share lots of cuppas and chats I am sure!

The Alternative Wife - I totally adore the gorgeous pics that Dawn serves up on her delicious blog. If you love photography then this is a must. Also track down the side of her blog and check out her 'Wedding Photos' tab and see the awesome photograph of her wedding in The New York Weddings magazine - a stunning statement!

Adelaide and Beyond - this delightful blog pays homage to my home town with plenty of gorgeous photographs by the clever Dianne - and she is a great lady to boot - how do I know this? She is one of my fab aunts and I adore her and her talents!!

The Textured Leaf - I am rather excitedly waiting on a grown up dress just for me from this super talented lady...she makes delightful things, but also I love her warmth and friendliness on the page. Check out Wendy, as my M would say - "She is wicked"!!!

Beneath My Heart - Traci has like a thousand thousand followers BUT each and every time I comment, she sends me a message back - now that is special! She is a shining example of what a christian should be and has encouraged me in my spiritual life so many times. This blog has been my 'saving grace' on many days!

Gifts of Serendipity - what a gem, what a find....Felicity writes so beautifully and I always enjoy a gander over to her place...we get to share plenty of thoughts and ideas and I love her company. She pushes me artistically. Thankyou beach princess xx

m.e. - Cathie writes from the heart and photographs from the heart....each post touches me in some way...she is one of life's treasures and I do adore her and her blog very much.

Jewelscapes - love the fashion sense of the Divine Deanna. I want to look just like her!!!! Her ability to piece items together encourages me to strive and be true to my eclectic bohemian self because when I do that is when I truly shine! Oh and her jewellery is something else, I have a couple of pieces and I wear them LOTS!!

Marigold Road - well for a start I love Mindy herself - she is warm, cute and madly in love with her children and we both have a Shawn/Shaun whom we are crazy about!! She will make you laugh and she will make you cry BUT she will always keep it real!! I am so glad I decided to take a walk down Marigold Road.

And last but not least a very special mention to Day After Wonderful Day because without Beth I would not be here doing my thing, writing in my compendium and meeting so many fab people!! Beth you have seriously changed my life and I can't wait to sit on your porch and have a good long chat!!!

Happy Thoughts to all of you....enjoy whatever your day brings!

Gone

I woke this morning
turned to embrace
but you were
gone

where are you my
sweet
my darling one
gone

you have left me
bereft without counsel
without cause, just
gone

i reach out
in vain hope
to touch skin again
gone

I am inspired to try and write by Heather, she is truly a fabulous writer
and she takes part in 5 Minute Fridays...check out what she achieves!!! This is my scribbling from this morning, a couple of minutes writing, no editing, just as it is.

Monday Musings....

In memory of the late Liz Taylor
"My mother says I didn't open my eyes for eight days after I was born, but when I did, the first thing I saw was an engagement ring. I was hooked."

I think its great that Liz was able to see humour in her life...lets face it without our humour life would be pretty sad and dull!

Grateful

As we enjoy some truly seasonal autumn weather here I find myself hunting out my more cosy clothes for cooler days. I so love being able to kick around the crinkly fallen autumn leaves that God gently scatters on our sweet earth - nature truly is amazing!

I need to go and get me a pair of these just now!! Don't forget your dose of gratefuls over here too.

Bidding a Fond Adieu

Andy Warhol image

It is always sad to here of a death and when it is someone we all know and love it seems even more poignant. Today we farewell a lady who appeared to have it all. Elizabeth Taylor was famous, abundantly wealthy, loved by many and fabulously gorgeous - a true style icon.

She was the epitomy of what so many people strive for in this world.

However she also suffered greatly. She had a number of broken marriages and love affairs, and she had terrible times with ill health. She struggled with these issues and had the added stress of doing so in the public limelight.

What a blessing that she was surrounded by her children when she finally bid adieu to this world. Today I remember fondly a lady who appeared to me to have so much grace and poise - Elizabeth Taylor, I honour you.

Monday Musings....

Who we are is found in...
Our character...not our appearance
Our choices...not our possessions
Our courage...not our comfort
Our compassion...not our successes

Monday Musings...

Well its a public holiday here in South Australia for Adelaide Cup Day so in this vein it is only appropriate that I find something inpired by this sport of legends - the great horse race!!

Divine Dior

Now I am not generally a material girl but when I spied these beautiful creations I must confess my heart did a little pitter patter.
I love the sumptuous fabrics, the gorgeous colours and
the glitz and glamour that speaks of the
House of Dior!
I must add this too
isn't that just so chic...

For more of this divineness check out Captivated by Image and her blog article on Dior Heaven....

Adding Sunshine To My Soul

I have been feeling a little blue these last couple of weeks,
so thought it would be a good idea to go in search of some sunshine
for my soul!
a simple sunhsine strip

heart warming walls
I truly ruly would love this bag
anything gifted in these tins would be just too sweet
doesn't this cake make you smile...
a New York cab stands out
daffodils - make me so happy
roses in the simplest of vases - this is sweet

I would love to run with freedom right now...

Saturday Gratefuls

Today I am so thankful for AUTUMN - My favouritest season of the year!!!

I love walking amongst her leaves,
I love her colours
I lover her rosy hues
I love her cooler mornings
where crispness of air
makes you feel alive
and her magical sunshiney days...
warm your very soul.

don't forget to go over to Maxabella's for a weekend cuppa
and join in with the gratefuls!
