Whats On Your Table - Tuesday

 I see the wonderful Joyce has something delectable on her table - hmmmm, no such luck here!!!

I am just in from a morning running around, followed by a massage appointment, not the relax & enjoy type, but rather the crunch of bones & inward gasps of pain type!!

My latest op shop find - my crochet bag!!!!! Love, love it, love it, hubby hates, hates, hates it!!!

Gotta have a scarf  or two in the mix! Wearing BOTH of these today!! One on me & one on the bag!!

my current "must have" item - Korner Just Delight lip balm (pressie from my sister when she recently visited from UK)

note book - see the scribbles...that needs work!!! & needs to be put on my laptop. I still do my writing freehand & then transfer it onto laptop - slow & old fashioned I know but thats the way I work.

devotional book - to help guide me & stay my busy stress head mind!!

novel from the library that I am still trying to finish!! Think i will take it to Auskick this arvo & spend some time reading in the car - its cold & wet here today!@!

Monday Musings...

I have been musing on

little things today

Can you guess what this is?

Yes that's right it is a little box....

Look what's inside the little box...

Thats right it is two little hearts.

You may be wondering what this means,

believe me when I tell you it is TRULY special...

Shaun & I were married some 20 months ago now

and despite our insistence as to no gifts, most people

just ignored us!!! We were truly blessed with many lovely & beautiful things.

One friend did something a little different....

She gave us this box

with two little hearts she had carved out of

the surfboard things on the beach...you know those long polystyrene things that

birds love to peck at with their beaks

she also put in a sweet little card

Why is this special?????.....

this dear friend had been VERY ill and we honestly didn't expect her

to be able to get out of hospital to share our day

she made this herself

she honoured us in doing this....

I love that it is unique, handmade & restored from something else

and to this day it is the most treasured of all our wedding gifts....

it sits in our bathroom & is looked upon daily by us reminding us of gorgeous & special memories.

Little things can have a HUGE impact...

I need help....

I have had yet another of those mornings where I feel I am pushing up hill.....no matter what time we get up & get going, no matter how organised I get before hand I still find myself tearing my hair out at my son, raising my voice & losing the plot - BEFORE WE GET TO SCHOOL!

I am not a  morning person & struggle to get out of bed but after a few minutes I can usually warm into the day. I make myself a coffee, get breakfast sorted, finalise school lunch, check all Maxie's homework is in his homework bag, I know Max cannot handle a whole list of instructions at once so I split them up into bite sized chunks. We have a list on the fridge with pictures of  what he needs to do to get ready BUT I feel like I am not doing it right.

Every morning I am ending up exasperated & sick of it, I want to yell & scream & its not even 9am!!! We seem to be continually late and I wonder how on earth other parents do it with such ease - AND I ONLY HAVE 1 CHILD TO MANAGE!!!!!!!!

Its bothering me because more often than not I pull back into our driveway & burst into tears feeling like the WORST mother in the world! I am really starting to hate myself & the way I don't seem to manage this little task properly.....

Thank goodness holidays are around the corner.....& just as well I don't have to head on to work as I would be an absolute mess!!

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most gratefully appreciated,

going into my "must try" pile.

Needless to say there is washing to put out, clothes to iron but having spent the morning helping a friend who is just out of hospital,  think I am more inclined to peruse the magazine!!! maybe I'll get some writing done - there is a piece rattling around in my head!!

Monday Musings...

After a rather grey drizzly weekend

we have woken to clear blue skies today

it is rather cold but the blue is so bright,

pretty & piercing!

I have added some blue thoughts for you today....

It led me to muse on the colour, it is the coolest colour in the pallete - the colour of the sky, ocean, sleep, twilight.

A pure blue is the colour of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality.

 Blue is often the chosen colour by conservative people.

Blue is the calming colour. 

Blue is so soothing that is a good choice for pyjamas.

Dark blue is the colour of truth and moderation.

Wednesday's colour is blue.

Turquoise is the colour of communication.

Aqua is the colour of high ideals.

Blue gives a feeling of distance. Artists use it to to show perspective.

Put some blue in your life when you want:

calm and relaxation to counteract chaos or agitation

to open the flow of communication

to broaden your perspective in learning new information

solitude and peace

Enjoy today whatever you do!!!

Monday Musings...

I have just got back form a day of visiting & feeling a little flat....I hate that let down feeling after a long weekend when you are kind of sorry that the long stretch of family time is over & getting ready for another week of school, work, study, life.

Musing what on earth we are going to have for dinner!!!

Maybe I can get a Beef Casserole done in time!!!! I love this rather 70's pot in a retro "happy memories way". I have a little one too, minus the lid but use it for small mornays & macaroni cheeses for Max.

A cup of tea....

Its a cold slow Sunday morning

one of those days where I need to

start out with a nice pot of tea.

Aren't these teacups just tooooo divine?

My favourite teas are English Breakfast or Irish Breakfast when

looking for something robust, & Lady Grey or a decent Chai when

hankering for a soothing brew.

My mum is having an on-going love affair...

and it has been going on for quite some time. The weirdest thing about it is that my dad seems to be quite okay with it all?? Now before I go any further I should inform you that my parents are really really in love, have a great marriage and seem to be quite happy and content.

So...how did this affair begin you ask....

Back in the 70's my parents first went away overseas and I think it may have begun to emerge then. They travelled around Europe and the UK.

They then returned in time for my mum to celebrate her 60th Birthday

in France & I think that cemented her affections.
